MCB Belgium - General manager a.i.

MCB België/Belgique is a wholesale supplier of steel, stainless steel and aluminium. These materials can be supplied as tubes, sheets, profiles, bars and strips, and sheet metal cut to size. Fasteners and welding accessories for these products are also supplied. The company carries a complete range of components for the trailer construction sector, and offers an extensive range of hydraulic engineering products. Products are available from stock. MCB Belgium serves Belgium, Luxembourg and France.

MCB België/Belgique did experience a large restructuration by the end of 2009 (cut 50% of actual personnel).


MCB International decided to install a temporary General manager from early 2010 till the end of the year with the following objectives :

-Reset a good work spirit within the organisation and participate to the reactivation of the management team (including Commercial, Finance, Logistic and administrative functions).

-Re-focus the organisation on the client activities with the necessary support of the group :

  • recreate pro-activity and ownership
  • improve the commercial drive
  • improve commercial processes
  • reinstall speed and effectiveness

-Finalize the implementation of all  decisions related to the agreements reached during the Renault procedure negotiations



TOSHIBA TEC Benelux operations

Toshiba Tec is a european Retail solution provider, offering a complete package from consulting and system design to system installation, operation and maintenance of POS systems, cash registers, weighing scales, barcode printers, peripherals and software information systems.The Benelux branch employs 80 people servicing customers as Delhaize, Quick, Laurus, Torfs shoes, Casa, Press-shop, Di... Authorized dealers and VAR’s distribute label printers, electronic cash registers and scales.

Branch Manager’s mission as General Manager operations in the Benelux  is the development of  profitable business activities in product and service sales for both a Retail Division (selling directly and indirectly in Belgium and selling only by indirect channels in the Netherlands) and a IPD division(Identification Product Division selling mainly through dealers).

Learning & experiences :

-Full control on a complex operation involving all the different aspects of selling hardware, software and solutions to direct customers as well as developing and maintaining indirect channels(Functions include sales & marketing, purchase & logistic, inventory & site/equipement preparation, delivery& installation, service & hardware maintenance, software development & helpdesk).

-Taking the lead of an organisation totally controlled by the founder (historical leader installed in the same premises as CEO Europe) and implementing  smooth cultural changes, new personnel mgt style.

-Dealing with a newly created international structure.

-Managing the french operation as interim General Manager for 3 months on top of the Benelux operations (replacing the local GM who was temporarily unavailable in the middle of a restructuration).


Assignment as CEO a.i. Tradeware 

Tradeware’s mission is to offer traders a cost effective equity trading computer solution to deal in real-time with multiple stock exchanges.

The CEO a.i. mission was to assist the board of directors in the daily operation while turning the company in a professional and efficient operation.

Achievements, learning & experiences

· The company, a typical start-up, has been reorganized in order to cope with the market demand and customer expectations(more project management / better services). New people have been introduced for changing company culture (very young environment).
· Achieving objectives as stated by the shareholders(Delta lloyd/Instinet) and introducing and assisting the new CEO.
-Full control on a complex operation involving all the different aspects of developping , selling and maintaining sophisticated software and solutions to direct customers in the financial world.
-Taking the lead of an organisation shoked by the dismissal of the historical founder.
-International experience with the sales structure.


Assigned as International Business Developper Buhlmann - Robotix Division

Robotix produces made-to-measure turnkey solutions for loading/unloading your machines including storage and transfer of parts as well as any cleaning and monitoring operations.


Robotix also produces 3-, 4- or 5-axis manipulator robots for handling pallets or parts. From mechanical design, electrical and pneumatic studies, assembly, wiring and programming in our workshop to on-site commissioning with user training and after-sales service.

Achievements, learning & experiences

· The Divison intended to extend the sales of manipulators at international level by creating a dealer/distributor network

· Achievements: 3 distributors/dealers in France, germany and Netherland (see www.robotix.eu)  


Assigned as General Manager

Haro Technologies International SA designs, develops, manufactures, commercializes and delivers tool & cutter grinders for sharpening and/or producing tools.


Learning & experiences :

-Full control on a manufacturing operation involving all the different aspects of selling Machine tools and solutions to direct customers as well as developing and maintaining indirect channels on a world wide basis(Functions include sales & marketing, purchase & logistic, inventory & site/equipement preparation, delivery& installation, service & hardware maintenance, Soft and machine engineering & helpdesk).

-Dealing with an international sales structure. Developping Business relationship with emerging countries(BRIC, Turkey,...)

Assigned as CEO

Greenwatt is a spin-off of UCL University specialized in "Waste to Energy". The company develops and commercializes decentralized bio-methanization installations aiming to transform organic waste  in "green" energy (electricity and heat).
